With the decline in agricultural practices, the number of mules and donkeys in Andalucia, southern Spain, has been dramatically reduced.
So few people realize that these animals are unique in nature as they have a distinct attraction to humans. Their inquisitiveness is like a magnet that draws them to us. They love to be touched, stroked and to spend time with us. All they ask of us in return is our gentle appreciation of them. With the right kind of training they are happy to be used as a means of transportation for us and our goods. We hope to encourage and enable you to use your land and give these wonderful creatures new lives and futures. Slow your own pace down and learn to saddle and ride your mule and donkey around the country lanes and tracks of Spain and the rest of Europe. Go camping with your family and friends, but take the mule and not the car! Many are doing it now!

We also offer our own style of humane animal re-training. Our approach is eclectic and relaxed. We can also teach you to ride no matter what your age and/or disability! I am not the first non-Spanish resident to ride mules and donkeys for pleasure, but I am the first in Andalucia to seriously study them 24/7 for eight years. I have also visited Estonia to Design and Lead a project to build the first Mule Breeding Ranch in Europe. I have spent two weeks in Brazil studying their famous Pega donkeys and lecturing on the place of mules in Spanish Culture & History. I have also broadened my own knowledge and expertise by studying/visiting mules and donkeys extensively throughout Spain, the United States and the UK (Vietnam due November 2007).
You may decide on a flying visit into Málaga (45 minutes from us: transport and accommodation can be arranged). Or you may prefer to pick your animal from our Web Page selection. Some photographs may show images representative of types of animals that are currently available.
However we will always e-mail you photos reflecting the type of animal you are interested in. We will also work our hardest to match you and your Ride to Pride. In the summer of 2007 we were very proud to be able to invite our friend Fernando Rolim to join us in Spain. Fernando has developed a wonderfully gentle and humane training product all of his own. He first started with Monty Roberts long before Monty's name was famous. Since then Fernando has worked with more than twelve of the world’s most renowned Mule and Horse trainers/Clinicians. He has taken what he feels is the best from each of these people and evolved a truly eclectic, but original method of training and re- training. I was proud to introduce him to some people who were new to mules in this region, also to many who themselves teach riding as a profession. They were all clearly amazed at the success of the humane systems he uses. Look for the link to Fernando Rolim's site. This man is going to the top of his profession. A true Horse Whisperer, a wonderful muleman!
Usually there are around one hundred stock animals (Mules and Donkeys). These days we specialize in these types of animal.
There are many others in this area that can train you and provide horse riding experience. If you are interested in either a one hour to a whole week horse riding experience, contact us and we will put you in touch with specialists in our region. We can also support you with Animal and Horse Phobias (qualified psychologist on site), Carriage Driving (NEW), Ploughing, Packing (cargo & camping gear onto a mule or donkey), as well as Log Pulling. We use Western safe Riding of Mules & Donkeys. For the experienced rider we have experienced animals, and for those who cannot ride we have animals that have never been ridden! Sorry! Bad Joke!
